In Puno you can also visit the Sillustani Burial Towers, or Chullpas, which date back to the Colla but were also used by the Inca after this area was annexed to the Inca Empire. Huajsapata Hill is a natural limestone lookout four blocks west from Puno's main square, referred to by locals as the "Cerrito de Huajsapata" thanks to a popular song. From this vantage point one can get a complete panorama of Puno and the clear waters of Lake Titicaca; it's not quite as impressive as the Kuntur Wasi lookout but it's much more accessible for those wishing to avoid the 600+ steps to Kuntur Wasi. You'll also see a 45m high statue honoring Manco Cápac, founder of the Inca Empire.

Chucuito's main attraction is the Inca Uyo (Aymara for Place of the Inca) Ruins from after the Inca Conquest of the Lupaka Kingdom. Once part of a complex of ceremonial buildings, you'll find inside phallic stones 2-3ft high arranged upright like mushrooms. Though both temple and stones are authentic, the placement of the stones inside the temple was a municipal decision, which has led to the site's unproven presentation as a fertility temple where virgins sat atop large stone phalluses.

The 17th century Corregidor's House in the Plaza de Armas next to the Cathedral and Dreyer Museum is one of Puno's oldest residences, declared a historical monument in 1980. Today it houses an art gallery with permanent and changing exhibits, library with reading room and research service, and a caf&ecute-bar frequented by artists and expats. As a cultural center it hosts exhibitions, workshops, and concerts in its mission to promote local identity by supporting Puno's artists and intellectuals.

The forty floating islands of Lake Titicaca are manmade by one of America's oldest cultures, the Aymara-speaking Uros Tribe. These thin islands are made from tortora reeds which provide housing, sustenance and transport. They're part of the Titicaca National Reserve and are home to 2,000 Uros, who are also called kot-suña, people of the lake. They subsist mainly through fishing, weaving, and tourism. Handicrafts here cost more than in Puno, but you'll be buying directly from the artisan.
